Owl Cam 2005-2006 Carmel Middle School Habitat Program, CSUMB and UC Hastings Reserve

In late April, 2006 a single barn owl arrived and set up housekeeping. We hope this means a pair of owls and that they will nest this year. This page refreshes every 2 minutes. The owl has occasionally left the box for a few days recently. So, keep checking back. If the owl is not there, check out some sample photos from past years (below).

We will be archiving the images at Steve Moore's site, and at a UC Natural Reserve website . You can download a movie of the last 15 minutes. You will need Quicktime to view the movie; you can find this software free on the web; just Google "Quicktime Downloads".

In 2004, we recorded the entire nesting cycle; from eggs to young birds. Click here to go to these archived movies, 2004. For more information on Barn Owls in general, click here. For plans to build your own owl box that is very similar to this one, click here. For our particular box, here are more details.
