1. Long-term Average Rainfall (inches,1939-2002) for Hastings. Like a lot of California, Hastings is a desert that is occasionally subject to flood years. Rain generally only falls in the winter months, and the amount of rain is erratic.
2. Precipitation at Hastings from 1928 to 1998, counting each "rain year" from July of, for example, 1928 to June 30 of 1929 as "1928". The years 1982 and 1998 were "El Niño" years. The long term average rainfall is 21.3".
