We did not have any university classes
visit in November or December. The Art Class of the Jamesburg Cooperative continued
to meet every Monday a the School House for art class (K-12).
And, we did have a great visit from
Mike Arnold, Fanny Arnold's son. Mike and his wife, along with a group of about
six others from Pacific Grove, visited Hastings on a cold, windy December 19th.
We walked around the buildings and reviewed the history of the place, dropping
in on Bill Monahan, one of Walt Koenig's graduate students, who was busy at
his laptop in the Bunk House. It was great to have friends and relatives of
Fanny, our long-time benefactress and the daughter of the original donors of
Hastings Reservation, visit and we hope to see more of them in the future.
Mike wanted to hike up the Arnold
Road, but the weather was wet, windy and cold. So, they will return on a warm
day.
In the last newsletter, I forgot to
mention the visit by a group of students from Greenfield High School on Saturday,
Oct 19. I met with them from about 10am to 1pm, and gave them a tour of the
reserve.
