by Mark Stromberg, Ph.D. Hastings Natural History Reserve, UC-Berkeley
and Paul Kephart, Rana Creek Habitat Restoration, Inc.

More Information

The Wildland Solutions Residual Dry Matter (RDM) Photo-Guide was developed to meet the needs of ranchers, technicians and agency personnel who wish to effectively manage RDM levels of California annual grassland range-types

To find a person or company to consult with you or to find a source for native seeds, the California Native Grass Assocaition has a great website.

Goats:

There are probably more sources of people who have experience in providing grazing with goats. Here are a couple of groups who have experience in California

Goats are Us                         or                 Goats Unlimited
Egon Oyarzun                                           Kent McWilliams
and Terri Holleman                                    310 398-9223 (messages)

Tools:

A Weed Wrench is JUST the deal to remove French Broom. The clamp on the bottom of the wrench grips the plant at soil level. Then you pull the handle down and the leverage allows you to pull out the plant up and out by the roots. Even plants 4-6" in diameter at the base can be pulled out. It is so impressive that it is almost fun.

WEED WRENCH is exclusively available factory-direct from:
