Agnes Melin
Mrs. Agnes Archer Melin, 91, died this morning in a local convalescent
hospital after a long period of failing health.
She had made her home in the Jamesburg area of Carmel Valley for the past
six y years. Mrs. Melin was born Feb 18, 1876 in Santa Rita, daughter
of Dr. S. M. Archer, Monterey County's first medical officer. She was
long widowed.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Lefors of Jamesburg and Mrs.
Kathryn Anselmi of Sacramento, a sister, Mrs. Sally Zane of Carmel, three
grandchildren, and seven great-grand children. Interment will take place
in Cemetario El Encinal.

Notes: From Grace Brune, 1951, in Hastings Files:
Louisa Robertson (Dr. Archer's wife) was a daughter of the builder of
the Robertson House on Hastings, and Bartola, the Indian woman. Luisa
Robertson had a sister, Susana Robbertson, who married Ignacio Boronda.
